2000 H D FXSTB Night Train – Motorbike Bicycle
2000 H-D FXSTB Night Train
I was in the extreme summer of some of the worst drivers in the world surrounded by horsemen. I’m at the next exit, go home and put the bike for sale. I think if I had doubts about the safety of motorcycles and can find applications to Murphy’s law, and can keep time on four wheels. I know my wife will be happy after all that we have two small children at home now, but I will say that my 4 year old daughter, loved the bike so when my Ducati 900SS bright red sold for about one year before mentioned. But what happened in the last couple of weeks ago which brings back the joy and freedom that I remember from my years increased. I met people from the MO and the next thing I know I’m hanging in Harley shops trying to get a close-up view of the 2000 model.

Suddenly I found myself trying to decide what I’m lusting after the most. For those of you who have been shopping for a Harley, you know how difficult it can be to find out which model is right for you. The only thing that is really hard to find at your local dealer.
I have road this decision. First there is the Sporty 1200. Should I buy or should I say keep it to what some would become “a real Harley.” At the time I chose sports because I reasoned that I only occasionally go up and maybe a solo. Within six months, I returned my HD on local dealership looking for a bigger bike, I can ride comfortably with my significant other in the back. The second time I saw, a long and difficult in Convertible FXRS Low Rider and FLSTC Heritage Classic. I know, feel good conversion but seen from the Softail is difficult to resist. I sat on two wheels is more than a dozen times and spent most of the day bullsh * ting with the dealer about the pros and cons of each motor. Conversion is clearly more practical. I could make a weekend trip more comfortable and when I removed the windshield and the bike bag has an alter ego. But, hey, is not it better to look good than feel good? Finally, not many of the HD lifestyle? But at the end of a long day I went home on practical FXRS.
The third time I am sure that I want the Heritage or maybe even a Fat Boy. This morning I told my wife that I was just going to go up, but inside I knew I was going back to my HD local dealer to another bicycle trade. Dealer and I always together well enough to know at this point, and he has a large selection of bicycles. I sat on a Heritage Softail and Fat Boy and I liked them both. Once again I have to take difficult decisions.
After the usual discussion about my concerns for the well-known oscillations of the Softail, the dealer suggested that I use a rubber rear engine-stick. “But I want to look nostalgically,” I said. “This time I want to experience the full H-D.” He pointed me in new directions Electra Glide FLHTC complete with drops drops of black and chromium. “Southern Comfort,” he said. “Take a good bike for a spin and then decide.” “But when it comes to me, I’ll go for the Dresser.” You guessed it, I left with the FLHTC. Later this year we moved from Los Angeles to Phoenix and my bike started to feel heavier and hotter than I remember. Damn! I know I should buy a Softail.
So here I am again four years later at the same dealer, same with the conversation. This time I’m back living in Los Angeles from Mulholland Highway, a mecca for thousands of bikers in fair weather weekends particular, that in So Cal, almost every weekend. Once again the problem of handling and comfort compared to an incredible look and ride hard. Or is it? Harley has made significant changes to the popular Softail line. They still have their looks incredible, but without the vibration, which tens of thousands of former owners either loved or hated. In addition, they now have even more torque and power – always a good thing – and big brakes as well.
I realize that this is not news to you who follow the bike scene, but I quickly realized that a more difficult question where I have to go look, touch and maybe even go up a model 2000. I went to four dealerships before you take a good look at the model, I want to see. The only model that I can not find the new Softail Deuce. Apparently the list of all dealers have to wait is to offer until April, with any device with at least one backup in case the buyer gets the owner intended to repentance before it is received. I find I like bikes, they all either sold or “demos” that can not be sold for several months.
Oh yes, it’s only dealer who has a $ 900 picking-up on the set-up cost $ 500 and a “chrome package” shall be $ 2,000. He has some bikes have to wait Gazillionaire latest IPO to open his wallet. With my new interest is driven motorcycle, I’m ready to jump back into Harley ownership. So when the opportunity came to go up Night Train 2000, I quickly disassemble the helmet, shoes and leather jackets and ready to roll. First of all I would say that looking great Night Train bike that, if you prefer to see cuts in the gleaming chrome. Covered in contrast with the previous model with the Bad Boy springer front-end in black, is the Night Train with the traditional appearance of steel telescopic fork. Let’s face it, even if you love your Harley in black, too much of a good is, well, too much. There are some chrome accents, including drag bar, spotlights, two staggered tube and front wheel.
When it comes to curves, this is not a motor sport, but then again I’m not a sports bike riders. Not like
the Electra Glide, Night Train, I can lean over without fear of grinding some parts shiny. After the first tentative turns out, I started to brake later and get out of the short supply of. I have enough confidence to make all the people that I would meet, but a car, the Night Train and I prefer the big sweepers to tight twisty.

The great news here is the new Twin Cam with balance shaft. While he is stronger than the previous Evo motor I was surprised to significantly reduce vibration at idle and can accommodate up to 65 mph. Although I know that the vibrations are part of the overall HD experience, I would classify that as a leftist “good vibrations”. I can not imagine that someone is tired after a few hours in the saddle. Another pleasant surprise is more direct feeling shifter. Neutral is very easy to find and shifting can be done with little effort. My second night train, 40 km of roads back as I know to my Harley dealer, look at a pearl Fat Boy, who just signed on superslab track seems to drag the bar to come a little too long to retrieve. My arms are always sore and I started to constantly find themselves under my left hand from the handlebars and bend my arm to eliminate the annoying cramps. is to develop in my arm.
